About
Little Step Sierra Leone was founded in 2000 (LSSL) as an association, to contribute to peace and community rebuilding after the 11 year civil war and the Ebola Outbreak. It operates exclusively in Koinadugu district, targeting people living in extreme poverty and disadvantaged situation within the most deprived communities in Koinadugu district. LSSL believes in the dignity of people and their ability to overcome the burdens created by poverty, exploitation and other complex influences that bear upon their everyday life experiences.

2015-2018 year the association was able to accomplish the following:
EDUCATION
Built 8 primary schools,
Built 10 staff quarters,
One secondary school,
Supplied teaching and learning materials to schools,
Awarded several local and international scholarships,
Built a boarding home for 90 blind students,
Set up computer labs in Yagala Primary school, Kabala Secondary school and Kabala town library,
Built carpentry workshop for school dropout.
HEALTH
Built 3 health centres
Constructed several hand pump water wells.
Brought in several foreign medical doctors that give free medical services to the community.
Set up the first eye unit and dentistry in the Kabala government hospital.
SOCIAL SERVICES
Built two mosque at Yagala and Kamasokolar
Built church at Yagala
Youth centre at Yagala
Contributed in setting up Radio Bintumani
LIVELIHOOD ACTIVITIES
Set up microcredit scheme for 115 women in Wara Wara Yagala Chiefdom.
Supplied agricultural seeds and farming tool to the most vulnerable farmers.
